I’m a Blue-Collar Democrat because government should work for the people who make this city run—keeping families safe, taxes fair, services honest, and opportunity within reach. That’s the heart of my campaign for Mayor.
What “Blue-Collar Democrat” Means
- Dignity of work: Good jobs, real apprenticeships, and pathways into the middle class.
- Safety with respect: Back law-abiding officers and protect everyone’s rights—both can be true.
- Affordability: Freeze property taxes and end back-door hikes through revaluations.
- Honesty: Transparent budgeting, open data, and accountability you can see.
Pillars of the Platform
1) Dignity of Work & a Fair Economy
- Recruit advanced manufacturing and trades; build apprenticeship pipelines with local employers.
- Cut red tape for small businesses and neighborhood storefronts.
- Make Providence competitive for working families—not just big corporations.
2) Safer Streets & Respect for All
- Keep politics out of policing, enforce the law fairly, and rebuild trust with community programs (youth sports, mentorships, neighborhood days).
- Set clear standards for accountability and transparency.
3) Treatment Over Incarceration (for Possession/Use)
- For non-selling possession under the influence: mandate detox and rehab; dismiss upon successful completion.
- Focus enforcement on dealers, guns, and violent crime.
4) Honest, Open Government
- Post contracts, tax-sale data, and meeting calendars online in plain language.
- Create a 311-style issues portal with public ticket tracking.
5) Homes with Compassion & Standards
- Convert vacant churches, temples, and mills into micro-units, youth housing, and family apartments.
- Provide on-site mental-health support and life-skills coaching.
6) Schools to Jobs
- Align high school programs with real careers (healthcare, trades, tech, logistics).
- Every graduate should leave with a job offer, apprenticeship, or college plan.
7) Tax Fairness & Fiscal Discipline
- No tax increases. No back-door revaluations.
- Prioritize core services; audit for waste and duplication; publish results.
